Eugene C. Pizzuto (1925-2004)

Born and raised in the woods of Waterbury, CT. Attended University of Wisconsin and Cranbrook Academy of Art. Professor at University of Washington from 1957 to 1993 (36 years); where he pushed students make their own paints and charcoals. Noted for his abstract landscapes and vivid figure studies. Though largely eschewing the gallery scene, some of his works were exhibited at the Henry Gallery and elsewhere, and was last represented by Baas Art Gallery.

Laura Pizzuto (1927-2018)

Laura (Euler) was born in Kansas, but raised in NYC. She met Eugene while attending University of Wisconsin, Madison. They married in 1949. She took Pizzuto-Velaz as an artist's name, and worked as an art instructor at the University of Washington. Exhibited atĀ Francine Seders Gallery, Henry Gallery, and Baas Art Gallery, in Seattle, WA. She is noted for her portraits.
